Miam Miam cured my sweet tooth crave!

Hello.

Finally tried this Japanese and French mixed cafe over the weekend.

About us

Miam Miam is a casual Artisanal French café-restaurant that brings together a mixture of French Artisanal Cuisine & Techniques with influences derived from traditional Japanese preparation & cooking arts.

This place is never short of customers. There is always either a long queue or a full house.
But yesterday was exceptionally quiet. (maybe world cup season. everyone was still in bed.heh.)

So there.

Jump with joy and quickly get myself seated.

The menu wasn't really extensive. Good because it makes decision making easier.
But I wasn't feeling up for a main course so i chosea dessert instead.
(Girls and their sweet tooth. And then complain about a fat ass later.)

I picked this.

Caramelised Banana

Bananas cooked in a deep golden caramel sauce, garnished with toasted almond nibs!

Holy.
Wait for it.

The brown fluff you see at the base is actually a pancake. Not your conventional kind.
This is like a japanese cake-ish sorta pancake. The french fusion is perhaps the gelato and caramelised banana.

I was told by the waitress that i had to wait 25mins for this. Ok.
It had to be good since the wait was pretty long for a dessert.

Lo' and behold.
The pancake is indeed worth the wait. It was really fluffy inside.
Fluffy. Not airy. Not thick or flat.

Pardon the mess. But this is how the insides of the fluff looks like.
I can't explain to you how this fluff goes very well with the gelato and/or the caramalized banana.

Even after 15mins into my slow motion slicing and devouring every bit of the fluff, the pancake remained fluffy. It didn't deflate neither did it harden. (you know how some cakes does it when they aren't made properly.)

This is really soft on the inside and slightly toasted on the outside. Just ever so slightly.

After 30mins, I finally cleared the plate. Satisfied with a bloated tummy. And perhaps a bigger ass the next day.

I toss the remaining ice-cream into my coffee. And it instantly became affogato-ish. *LOL*

My opinion is : If you are looking for a dessert after a meal, this is one to SHARE. I didn't had a main course and this felt like i just had a full meal.
Pair this with a cuppa light tea. An earl grey, maybe. This doesn't sit very well with coffee.
It gets too "jelat" after a while.

On a whole, this is worth once in a while as a sinful indulgence.
